Jack Elgin found his love for house and dance music at an early age. Growing up in Illinois and having access to awesome Chicago radio stations, WBMX and WGCI, which built a great musical foundation for him.
Being in the military, he was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia in the early ’90s. Jack was able to find venues for the music he craved in the Washington, DC and Baltimore. Jack then became DJ Jackpot and started running 2 nights of music himself.
In 2004, Jack decided to move to San Diego and took a twelve-year hiatus from DJing. Nevertheless, he always had a love for music. Jack had a what was called a “Meant To Be” encounter with Matthew Brian. Matthew assisted him in getting on the right path for DJing again. Therefore, this led to him to bring his mix style to the group, events, and now DanceGruv Radio.
Growing up with a professional musician for a father, Jesse Austin began his own music career in 1992. He started a mobile DJ business that catered to high school dances, graduation parties, sports events, and etc. WIth dissatisfaction for catering to mainstream audiences, this gave Jesse fuel for a more artistic and creative musical journey. That is when he discovered underground House music in 1995 and was immediately hooked as soon. The fixation quickly turned into dedicating all of his time and energy into his craft. His ventures into DJing, producing and remixing is swiftly gaining him notoriety in the industry.
Jesse has held club residencies in Boston, New York, Toronto, New Orleans, and other locations. He is making a statement for himself at “House Music Fridays” in San Diego. His father’s strong jazz influence has made Jesse developed a style of his own.
Jimmy grew up and attended college in North Carolina. Thereafter, he moved to Pittsburgh, PA. He wasn’t introduced to House music until he moved to San Diego in 2013. It didn’t take him long to fall in love with various genres of House music. This love quickly allowed him to immerse himself in the music scene there. Within the next two years, he had not only become a noticeable part of the San Diego house music community but he also began his career as a DJ.
Over the course of the last 3 years DJing, he’s played at events throughout San Diego and Las Vegas areas. Major events such as House Music Fridays, Souleil, Dance Klassique, and many more. In addition, his biggest achievement to date was in February of 2018 at the “Pretty Kitty Lounge”. This is where he held the “24 Pause for the Cause” charity. An event where he’d DJ for 24 hours without breaks, covering over a dozen genres of music, and with the support from The NAMM Foundation. His love and dedication for music as a DJ continues to grow and is evident when you see him perform with a live audience.
As Co-founder of House music label Audio Indika and DJ/Producer, Matthew Brian began his music trajectory in modest clubs in the southern U.S. ’94. He followed his exceptional passion for House music with playing clubs throughout the nation. He has worked with and played alongside some of the top names in the music industry. Such artists as Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Diz, Wally Callerio, DJ Sneak, DJ Heather, and others.
His own music has appeared on major labels such as 1200 Traxx, Sampled Detroit and Greenhouse Recordings. He founded Audio Indika in 2008 with best friend Uriah West.
