FrankMatik and Deejay Kuttz started their journey in the underground scene back in the early 1990s in Miami with a diverse range of musical influences ranging from afro latin, jazz, funk, disco, freestyle music, Miami bass, house music, techno, breaks and jungle/dnb, of which some influences include Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles & David Mancuso.
FrankMatik is a born native of Miami who’s early beginnings were as a dancer breaking & popping as a kid in the early 1980s and latter dancing at various underground events battling in cyphers and performing with his dance group known as The Subterranean Dwellers which he founded in 1995 credited with various performances at Winter Music Conference events alongside the late T.C. Islam & Aphrodite (Urban Takeover in 1997), Kevens & Monk of Rabbit in the Moon (Bob Marley Festival 1997) & (Zen Gathering of the Tribes, Bayfront Park Miami 1998.). FrankMatik has always had one foot on the dancefloor and the other in the dj booth from an early age. FrankMatik would later join forces with his partner in crime DeeJay Kuttz to power the label & crew known as SoulArtefacts who have collaborated at various events with Sound Cartel, Master Kev & Oscar P of Open Bar Music.
DeeJay Kuttz was born in Miami, raised in Medellin Columbia and lived for a while in NY for part of his life, his musical influences from his early days in the underground scene include, Bassbin Twins, Hardkiss, Funklab, Anoesis, Dub Tribe & FSOL which are projected in his mixes and productions.
SoulArtefacts is focused on producing house music, and promoting events that bring the roots of the underground and the art of djing to a global audience beyond borders.
